Den græske kanal “Korinthkanalen” blev bygget i slutningen af 1800-tallet. Kanalen forbinder Den Korinthiske Bugt med den Saroniske Bugt.
Kanalen gennemskærer landtangen Isthmen og Peloponnes og det græske fastland.

I 1881 blev to ungarske arkitekter, István Türr og Béla Gerster, hyret til at planlægge en ny kanal. Et græsk selskab ledet af Andreas Syngros overtog til slut projektet og fuldførte det i 1893
I dag benyttes kanalen primært af mindre skibe og turistskibe. Mere end 10.000 skibe passerer årligt kanalen.
